Making a donation of shelf-stable food, clothes, electronics and other items in good condition is a common step before moving. Check with local charities to see if you can schedule a pickup instead of adding another task to your to-do list.
While not every charity or nonprofit offers on-site pickup, the few minutes it takes to find out can definitely pay off. Major charities such as Habitat for Humanity, the National Children's Cancer Society and others offer pickups in several areas nationwide.
Some Atlas agents even offer food donation pickups through the Move for Hunger program. Just ask your agent if they participate!
