Atlas® has long considered its Professional Van Operators (PVOs) to be heroes of the road.
Every day, they are moving in and out of homes, neighborhoods, and travel centers, all the while interacting with a variety of individuals. Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) recognizes that van operators—and particularly those in the moving industry—are in a unique position to witness signs of human trafficking and take action to put a stop to it.
Earlier this year, Atlas® Van Lines partnered with TAT to educate the Atlas network on human trafficking. Many corporate employees and Atlas Agents, along with several Professional Van Operators, completed a training course provided by the TAT organization in which they learned about red flags of human trafficking and whom to contact if these red flags are spotted.
To further support this lifesaving cause, Atlas became a corporate partner and Bronze-level sponsor of TAT and is proud to share the organization’s vision of working to interrupt trafficking networks by empowering our workforce to take action.
“The support we receive from Atlas gives Truckers Against Trafficking more than just financial assistance,” said Laura Cyrus, Corporate Engagement Director at TAT. “By getting the entire Atlas network involved, we have been able to raise awareness and educate those who have the most potential to help save victims of this terrible crime. We’re so grateful Atlas has chosen to partner with us.”
